Capacity Building and Training

Empirical evidence suggests that capacity building plays an important role in the growth and expansion of communities and organizations. DAMEN Pakistan therefore places a great deal of importance on the training and capacity building of its staff and the local community in which it carries out its operations.

This is achieved through a variety of training programs and awareness sessions for the community that deal with relevant social issues and mechanisms to cope with them, which consequently bring about positive change in their localities. Community capacity building is primarily achieved by holding regular Women Social Organization (WSO) meetings with local women residing around our home schools. Some of the issues addressed in these meetings are:

• Pollution and Environment
• Importance of Education
• Leadership and Self-Empowerment
• Healthy Lifestyle Habits

In addition, regular Teacher Training Workshops are held for our home school teachers regarding:

• Early Childhood Education
• Multi-grade Teaching Skills
• Communication Skills
• Interactive Teaching Methods
• Curriculum and Planning
• Need-Based Training Programs

DAMEN Pakistan also creates opportunities for its employees to grow and develop their skills, competencies and expertise so as to enable them to contribute to their self-development and the development of the community.
